My "Roots"
Angel Berry Gardner
Owner/ Master Stylist
My career started in the beauty industry in the spring of 1997 and I came to Main Street Geneseo in the summer of 2006. I have taken extensive classes and workshops throughout the years, and have attended many hair shows. I've always strived to learn more in this ever changing industry. In 2010 I united with Frugal Fashionista (an upscale resale boutique) and created Geneseo's "An Affair To Remember". This was a prom hair and fashion show, complete with model's and a runway, held at The Big Tree Inn.
I was also co-founder and member of The Geneseo Merchants Association from 2010 to 2017 with Spring Morrow. This was an organization formed to help promote the Geneseo downtown small businesses. Our organization created the wine strolls, cookie strolls, Christmas In The Village, Autumnfest and more. In 2017 when we were ready to hand the torch over to a new organization we were able to donate more than $11,000.00 to help the new group continue on with our efforts. I was on the decorating and enhancement committee for the Village of Geneseo. For a number of years I was involved with The Young Entrepreneurs Academy at SUNY Geneseo. I spoke to their class, and gave tours of the salon. I also sat on a panel of investors one year, and was an investor for SUNY Geneseo and The Young Entrepreneurs Academy. For 9 years I worked with SUNY Geneseo's Relay For Life taking hair donations. I also was an ambassador for The Young Entrepreneurs Academy at their Cover Girls & Model Women event in Rochester NY. In the summer of 2009 I had the pleasure of doing hair and makeup for the show "Wife Swap".
This has been an amazing journey for me and an awesome career, with so much more to come! Thank you for taking time to learn about my roots, I look forward to meeting you! Enjoy!
